Minagi and Kotomi: Two characters separated at birth

While I was watching Air, something kept bothering me about Minagi Tohno. Kotomi is very similar to Minagi in many ways except the story line which is similar to Mai’s. Although there are differences in appearance with Kotomi and Minagi, their personalities are very similar with minor differences.

Appearence

Although Minagi and Kotomi almost have the same hair and eye color, it’s slightly different since Kotomi have darker purple eyes and hair color which is dark purple/blue hair.


Another familiar factor with Minagi and Kotomi is that they wear similar style of clothing. Also, both girls have long hair, although there are difference in hair style, Minagi wears ribbons in her hair and Kotomi wear orbs in her hair. If you think about it, Minagi’s hair style almost looks like Sayuri’s.

Personality

Both girls are both quiet, shy and very intelligent and on their top of their class. Also, these two girls seems to be very talented at one thing like Kotomi with cooking and Minagi with sewing and they also participate in school activities that most students normally don’t participate.

The distinguishable difference between Minagi and Kotomi is that Minagi isn’t anti-social and have a friend compared to Kotomi which she is very difficult to talk to compared to Minagi and doesn’t have any friends, except her lost childhood friend and Kotomi have no parents compared to Minagi which she have a mother that have a mental disability.

Conclusion

Although Minagi and Kotomi are very simular in personality and appearance, there are some aspects that are different between these characters. If you like Minagi for some reason, there is no less of a reason not to like Kotomi as well, and vice versa.
